School security, affordability and consolidation were among the key issues discussed at a community forum for seniors, hosted by Senator Vin Gopal on Thursday, Aug 30.
Residents packed the room at the community forum at Tinton Falls Town Hall, where attendees had the opportunity to meet the Senator and speak to him directly about their concerns.
“I was thrilled to see so many local residents attend the forum,” said Senator Vin Gopal. “I gained some incredibly valuable feedback throughout the event and was grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many insightful and active members of my community.”
Senator Gopal allowed residents to drive the discussion topics at the event and encouraged them to express their concerns.
“I cannot properly serve as a voice of the people if I am unaware of their key concerns,” said Sen. Gopal. “We heard from several residents about topics that are of great importance to them, ranging from gun control, to school safety, to consolidation and NJ Transit. I am excited to get to work and incorporate the feedback I received into legislation to make New Jersey a better place for all.”
In addition to the Q&A, Sen. Gopal provided attendees with information regarding state services designed to support New Jersey’s seniors and connected residents with the District 11 Constituent Services staff, who are always available to provide residents with assistance in the application process.
